50 New Beauty Launches to "Quarantine-Shop" Online in May
Updated: May 12, 2020
We could all use a little retail therapy right now.
Retail therapy has taken on a new meaning in the context of a terrifying, global pandemic. The compulsive purchasing that results — "quarantine shopping" — takes many forms. If you're in a practical mood, perhaps a skincare brand-formulated hand sanitizer will satisfy your needs. If you're stressed out and need to indulge, an esthetician-approved, luxury skincare buy might satisfy the situation. And if you aren't in the mood to shop at all, a DIY beauty section awaits you.
That being said, there are as many new beauty product launches as there are moods for retail therapy, including plenty of CBD-goodies to consider. As the times are atypical, the offering below spans a little bit of April and into May. Here are 50 beauty launches to quarantine-shop online. Once they arrive, disinfect the packaging and indulge.
This hair mask features the oil from one of nature's most antioxidant-packed superfruits, amla, which can help to prevent graying and hair loss when used for the hair. The formula incorporates kaolin clay to balance oil production on the scalp, while keeping strands refreshingly summer-ready. The only problem with this Sephora darling? It keeps selling out.
Hemp-derived CBD soothes the scalp and resurrects dull hair along with anti-bacterial coconut oil, softening moringa oil, and microcirculation-stimulating essential oils, peppermint and eucalyptus, for the scalp. CBD makes for an excellent way to soothe scalp eczema, while essential oils are a celebrity hair stylist-approved way to add scalp and hair detox into your regimen. Finally, their new packaging is also the brand's first foray into using eco-friendly, post-consumer resource (PCR) maerials.
Meet the reef-safe, mineral SPF that you need for summer: A self-adjusting, tinted newcomer from a skincare brand that Kate Bosworth loves. Kukui nut seed oil, argan oil, and sodium hyaluronate — a deeply-penetrating variation of Hyaluronic Acid — join forces with Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide to protect the skin from UV-damage. Other extracts include soothing chamomile and antioxidant-rich, ECGC-packed green tea, while even THD Ascorbate — a potent form of vitamin C — makes an appearance in this formula. It launches May 1!
The makers of the innovative Hydrocolloid Mighty Patch — which was one of the industry's first pimple patches to incorporate this moisture-absorba technology — now have a skin balm for post-breakout repair. Beauty patches are a great way to treat active flare ups, but this balm is the ideal topical for use after the patch, or if you self-extract a pimple. It's inspired by Neosporin, plus peptides and antioxidants, but works as a spot-treating primer under concealer, too. (On the other hand, if you prefer an esthetician-approved acne scar regimen by Biologique Recherche then you're also in luck.)
P.S. Healthcare workers can fill out this form on the brand's website for a free Rescue Balm and Mighty Patch Variety Pack.
Get your wanderlust in check with a limited edition eyeshadow palette inspired by your favorite destination. The zero-waste, ethical cosmetics brand infuses crystals into their products; this palette features Citrine, which is associated with joy and abundance. The makers of my favorite micro dart-powered anti-acne beauty patch just launched a skin-clearing vitamin, Skin Discipline. Daxia Godoy, co-founder of a beauty account I love to follow, @theglossaray, has been testing out this new skin supplement and noticing a difference. "After my first month of taking Skin Discipline, I saw noticeable changes in my skin, and for the better!" she begins. "Although the first month is only the beginning of my Skin Discipline journey, I was surprised to see results that fast from a supplement."
P.S. If you are hoping for help with hyper-pigmentation, consider The Nue Co. Skin Filter which contains amla.
