Lip Whip by Kari Gran, Cora Gold ($24)

Kari Gran's eco-luxe, certified organic lip whip is one of my all-time favorite lip balms. It is made from the natural ingredients your skin actually needs, free of toxins or occlusive ingredients such as petrolatum or mineral oil.

One of the reasons I gravitate to this line is that the founder, Kari Gran, created it out of necessity. Unregulated ingredients in our skincare and beauty products contain endocrine-disruptors, upsetting the delicate balance of the hormonal command center: the thyroid. Taking precautions for her thyroid condition in mind, something I also suffer from, she created this line of non-toxic luxury skincare goodies.

The line just dropped a brand new Spring-ready shade, Cora Gold, and I have been fortunate enough to try it already.

Think of it like a rusty-coral with a hint of shimmer — but subtle, deep, and not your average "end-of-winter" shade.

The texture of lip whip is like a lipstick-meets-balm — sturdy enough to relay some real pigment, but also nourishing AF. It's like a pot of nutritional salve, buttery and hydrating.

Because of its highly nutritive composition, it does absorb faster than your typical lipstick — but comes with other skincare benefits that make it worth it. Ingredients include healing sunflower-sourced vitamin E. Castor seed oil, beeswax, camellia seed oil, olive oil, and more, make up the rest of the lip-loving formula.

If you have dry lips and a soft spot for luxury green beauty products, I highly recommend this gem of a lippie. Now available in eight shades and an untinted peppermint flavor, prepare to meet Cora Gold, Kari Gran’s latest springtime addition.
