Got ADHD? There's a Supplement For That.
Updated: Jun 12, 2019
What was the question again?

Tom recently enlightened me to the fact that, "You have the worst memory of anyone our age that I have ever met!" I'll admit that my short term memory has gotten really bad. In my defense, I might just lack focus.
Thanks to The Nue Co., I can officially say that there's a supplement for that: The Nue Co Nootro-Focus ($85).
The supplement blend provides you with sharpened focus and mental clarity via natural psychostimulants. It increases neurotransmitter activity, but does so in support of the long-term health of your brain.
Ingredients
Citicoline
Bacopa
Organic Lion's Mane Mushroom
L-Theanine
Ginkgo
Rhodiola
In other words, it's a nootropic — or cognitive enhancing — supplement that does three things: it enhances learning and memory, aids focus, and is neuroprotective. You'll achieve the promised non-jittery state using health-promoting herbs and adaptogens that do all this while reducing anxiety.
It sounds like nature's healthy adderall.
Rhodiola is an adaptogen that I have been meaning to try. It reduces anxiety, helps you cope with stress, and promotes neurogenesis AKA repairing and rebuilding neurons.
Dr. Josh Axe's supplement line, Ancient Nutrition, also offers a brain-supportive strain of probiotics that I have taken. It features Ayurvedic herbs for concentration and memory while providing digestive and immune support.
Ingredients include organic ashwaghanda — an adaptogen I should take more — and the anti-inflammary superfood turmeric, to name another.
BTW Ancient Nutrition makes a probiotic strain to support skin health. I will definitely try it one day.
These are just two of the supplements for cognitive health that I've been eyeing recently. Taking health-promoting supplements is a form of self-care that pairs perfectly with my naturopathic doctor's detox shakes. The fact is, focusing is hard — even on a good day. I will take all the help I can get!
