Silk Laundry is the Everlane of Silky Separates

Fairly minimal with sumptuous textures.

Silk Laundry: An Australian Label Worth Remembering

If you're familiar with Everlane's indie-turned-mass appeal, you understand the cult potential of Silk Laundry. The collection is made up of straightforward designs in luxury fabrics, without any of the pomp. The trend-conscious brand will please fans of Reformation's aesthetic, while living up to Virgos intense scrutiny of quality-conscious Virgos.

The '90's-inspired collection consists of interchangeable separates and silk slip dresses at affordable prices. The look reminds me of Gwyneth Paltrow in her pre-Goop/Brad Pitt days. Their bottoms include paperbag waist trousers and silk slip skirts, similar to the ones by Rebecca Vallance.

Fond memories aside, the minimalist-inspired looks are easy to fall in love with.

Elegant textures and neutral-heavy color palette make them so wearable — easy to reach for, and an effortlessly elevated look. With accessorizing, you can go from trendy to glam in minutes. I also appreciate that some styles come in size XXS, as fashion inclusivity goes both ways.

The Australian label keeps sustainability in mind by creating classic pieces you can wear more than once, and they make it a point to use minimal packaging. They created their first limited-edition, charitable collection: 250 slip dresses featuring embroidered bees. The collection's proceeds will be donated to the Wheen Bee Foundation and Planet Bee Foundation.

Silk Laundry's understated style proves subtlety can make a significant impact where fashion is concerned. Don't get too attached, though; stock is limited.
