The posh older cousin of Tatcha's cult-favorite dewy face mist.

Tatcha is one of the most consistently beloved luxury beauty brands. All my top sources for beauty wisdom rave about products from the line, from estheticians to bloggers to M.U.A.s.

The OG J-Beauty brand came onto my radar with their Camellia Pure One Step Cleansing Oil ($48), back when I first began experimenting with double-cleansing — which remains my all-time favorite way to remove makeup. The brand also gets Sephora's clean stamp of approval, offering Eastern-inspired beauty wisdom that dates back to the beauty rituals of geisha.

After using Tatcha's Rice Enzyme Powder Exfoliant with ground pearl powder in it.

If you're interested in trying the line but don't know where to begin, I feel you. The raved-about options are seemingly endless. Think: Sake skincare, an illuminating pearl exfoliant (see photo), a dark circle-covering under-eye cream, a skin-perfecting primer, and, of course, their cult-favorite Dewy Skin Face Mist ($48).

Their face mist is definitely one of the buzziest products. Beloved by celebrity M.U.A. Mario Dedivanovic, the product also counts his celebrity client, Kim Kardashian, as a fan. Why? It hydrates and refreshes the skin while imparting a breathless, dewy glow that is as coveted as it is hard to achieve.

March 1, they launched the next iteration of their famous dew-ifier in the form of a lush new hydrator, Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream ($68), available at Sephora. My friend Becca adores the Tatcha The Water Cream ($68); think of this as its posh cousin. (Trust me I know all about that!) Wondering how exactly this analogy translates into a skincare product? Other than a lavender tint, a richer consistency, and different actives, for starters.

The formula took two years to create — longer than other products I’ve asked about before — deriving protective and detoxifying effects from the use of Japanese Purple Rice. The antioxidant rich ingredient protects the skin from environmental stressors, pollution, and UV damage, along with a blend of Okinawa algae that nourishes and promotes the synthesis of ceramides, which protect the skin barrier — essential for environmental protection, skin resiliency, and hydration.

Ginseng, Wild Thyme, and Sweet Marjoram provide amino acids, intensive moisturization, and protective benefits. Tatcha's signature Hadasei-3 Trio consists of a fermented blend of green tea, rice, and algae that provide the dermis with antioxidant-powered nourishment, protection, and rejuvenation.

Safe for even the most sensitive and chronically dry skin types, the Japanese beauty brand stands out for the wide success of so many of its products. They clearly get something right in their formulations! They are consistently rated highly at Sephora and their launches are constantly trending in beauty publications. Plus, many of their products come in mini-size, which means you can try them without breaking the bank.
